Local companies and business with environmental problems can now count timely, expert help from a new firm based in Cagayan de Oro.

"We have come to help Mindanao-based companies comply with environmental standards," explains John Carlo Tria, managing director of Southern Environmental Management and Corporate Services (Semcor), a firm providing important technical service such as air and water sampling, environmental impact assessment (EIA) and training services on pollution management and international certification standards for local business owners.

"We set up a Mindanao firm to help companies avoid pollution and in turn, help preserve Mindanao's natural beauty," said Tria, adding that the firm's commitment includes helping local companies meet global environmental standards, especially for local export-oriented companies seeking to sell their products abroad.

Semcor is a division of the Manila-based Environmental Counselors, Inc., a company that completed environmental assessment and training services in projects such as The Mindanao Container Terminal Project in Tagoloan, and services for several companies in Illigan City.

Recently, it completed pollution control training for local petroleum dealers in nothern Mindanao.

Semcor is participating in the upcoming Orobest Trade exhibit at the Limketkai Mall Atrium. It will also host an update seminar at the nearby Gloriamaris restaurant at the same mall.
